7. The Reclaimed Wooden Cable Spool Cabin

4
Industrial wooden cable spools are often discarded by utility companies and can be acquired for next to nothing. With a bit of creativity, these heavy-duty spools can be transformed into a charming, multi-tiered goat cabin. By using two large spools as the end walls and bridging them together with sturdy wood siding, you create a sturdy, barrel-shaped shelter. The natural circular shape of the spools provides built-in climbing platforms on the exterior, while the cozy interior offers a safe, dry sleeping nook. You can cut circular windows into the spool ends, covering them with hardware cloth to allow light in while keeping predators out. It is a brilliant example of upcycling that looks incredibly unique.
