15. Sunken Log River Stepping Bridge

15

Not every bridge needs to soar high in the sky; some of the most captivating builds sit right at the water’s edge. The Sunken Log River Stepping Bridge is a low-profile diagonal crossing made from unstripped oak and spruce logs laid directly into the water. Instead of a continuous flat floor, the bridge uses staggered, overlapping log segments that step diagonally across a wide, lazy river. Waterlogging slabs within the structure allows gentle waves to lap over the wood, while lily pads and moss carpet the surface. It’s an understated, cozy build that fits perfectly into wilderness survival maps.
