10. Retro Astronaut

10

Launch your toddler’s imagination into outer space with a retro astronaut costume that looks like it stepped right out of a 1960s space race documentary. Instead of the modern, bulky plastic suits, this vintage-inspired look utilizes soft, comfortable fabrics and metallic silver details. Start with a white cotton jumpsuit or a matching white sweatshirt and sweatpants set. Add silver fabric tape or metallic patches to the sleeves, chest, and knees to mimic the seams of a space suit.

For the oxygen tank backpack, you can spray-paint two empty two-liter soda bottles with metallic silver paint, tape them together, and attach red and orange felt “flames” coming out of the bottom. Secure them to your toddler’s back with simple elastic straps. This costume is lightweight, highly interactive, and perfect for toddlers who love to pretend they are flying through the stars.
