14. Luxury Hand-Poured Resin & Botanical Coaster Set

Encapsulating hand-collected botanicals, ferns, and subtle gold flakes inside crystal-clear epoxy creates gleaming, gem-like table accents.

  • What This Idea Means: Preserving delicate botanicals in crystal-clear resin captures freshness and natural beauty in a durable, permanent form.
  • Materials Needed: Clear casting resin, silicone hexagonal or circular coaster molds, thoroughly dried foliage (ferns, baby’s breath, mini pansies), gold leaf flake foil, mixing cups, stir sticks, silicone oil drops (optional), micro-torch or isopropyl alcohol spray.
  • How to Make It:
    1. Mix casting resin and hardener according to instructions for 3–5 minutes until clear.
    2. Pour a thin 2mm base layer of resin into each silicone coaster mold. Let it cure to a firm gel state (about 2–3 hours).
    3. Carefully arrange dried leaves, petals, and gold leaf flakes onto the gelled layer using tweezers.
    4. Mix and pour a crystal-clear top coat of resin over the florals until the mold is filled to the brim.
    5. Pass a micro-torch quickly across the surface to eliminate bubbles. Let cure for 24–48 hours before demolding.
  • Tips & Variations: Apply clear, self-adhesive silicone feet to the underside to prevent the resin from sticking to or scratching polished glass surfaces.
