Evoke the romantic, sorrowful essence of a classic gothic ghost story with a look that is soft, diffused, and hauntingly beautiful. The Victorian Ghost relies on monochromatic, muted tones to create a bloodless, ethereal appearance. Start with a very pale, matte foundation, ensuring you cover your lips and eyebrows slightly to wash out your natural coloring.
Instead of harsh blacks or bright colors, use soft, matte dusty mauve, taupe, and cool brown shadows around the eyes. Blend these colors deeply into the inner corners of the eyes and underneath the lower lash line to create a natural, hollowed-out, sleep-deprived look. Softly define the brows with a cool grey pencil. For the lips, use a matte nude lipstick and press a dusty rose pigment into the center, blurring the edges outward for a faded, wind-bitten effect.
