6. The Fan Palm Bush

6

Understory vegetation is just as important as tall canopy trees when constructing a believable tropical environment. The Fan Palm Bush is a low-lying, wide-spreading plant that fills ground space with lush texture. Featuring little to no visible trunk, this build focuses entirely on broad, fan-like leaves radiating outward from a single central point on the ground.

To construct a realistic fan palm, stack moss blocks or green concrete in a central cluster, then radiate leaves outward using oak, jungle, and mangrove leaf blocks. Layering green carpets, sea pickles, and ferns around the base creates a seamless transition into the surrounding grass or sand. Scatter these fan palms underneath taller palm varieties to create a dense, layered jungle floor that feels bursting with life and visual interest.
