7. The Window Frame Picture Display

Old wooden window frames with multiple glass panes possess a timeless architectural beauty. Instead of letting them sit in salvage yards, you can turn them into gorgeous, multi-photo displays that act as a visual storybook on your wall. This project allows you to showcase a collection of family photos, travel memories, or botanical prints in a structured, grid-like format that instantly draws the eye.
To prepare the window frame, decide whether you want to preserve the distressed, peeling paint look by sealing it with a clear matte sealer, or sand and repaint it for a clean, contemporary finish. Clean the glass panes thoroughly. To mount your photos, you can either tape them directly to the back of the glass using acid-free photo corners, or remove the glass entirely and stretch chicken wire across the back of the frame, using mini wooden clothespins to clip your photos in place. This versatile display can be easily updated as your family grows and memories accumulate.
