Materials Needed
- A flat round wooden plate or smooth cutting board
- A small terracotta plant pot (to serve as the pedestal base)
- Heavy-duty construction adhesive (such as Gorilla Heavy Duty Construction Adhesive)
- Textured stone or limestone finish spray paint (or matte beige acrylic paint mixed with fine sand)
- Clear matte sealant
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Sand both the underside of the wooden plate and the base of the terracotta pot to create rough surfaces for better glue adhesion.
- Turn the small terracotta pot upside down to form the tray’s center pedestal base.
- Apply a generous layer of heavy-duty construction adhesive to the top rim of the inverted pot.
- Press the wooden plate firmly onto the centered pot base, placing a heavy book on top while it cures for 24 hours.
- Once fully cured, coat the entire tray assembly with textured stone finish paint, applying two thin, even coats.
- Apply a clear matte sealant to protect the painted textured surface from water spots or dust.
