2. Boho Rainbow Arches Clay Jar
Idea Overview & What It Means
Inspired by modern bohemian wall art and desert aesthetics, this design incorporates raised, soft-curved rainbow arches molded directly onto the jar using air-dry clay. It adds dimension and warmth to kitchen counters or open shelving.
Materials Needed
- Glass canister jar with lid
- Air-dry clay
- Rolling pin and clay sculpting tools
- Craft glue or E6000
- Warm cream, mustard, terracotta, and sage acrylic paints
- Soft flat paintbrushes

How to Make It
- Roll out air-dry clay into uniform snakes approximately 1/4-inch thick.
- Bend the clay snakes into nested U-shapes to form rainbow arch motifs.
- Score the back of the clay arches and apply craft glue before pressing them firmly onto opposite sides of the glass jar.
- Blend the edges into the jar surface using wet fingers for a seamless integration.
- Allow the clay to cure for 24 hours until hard.
- Paint the jar base in a muted off-white or cream tone.
- Paint each arch band in alternating boho tones (sage, mustard, terracotta).
- Seal with a satin-finish clear coat.
Tips & Variations
- Stipple the background with a stippling brush to give the non-arch areas a stone-like texture.
- Replicate the arch pattern on the lid knob for a cohesive set.
